The 4 Winners of Next Generation 2015 contest are Alessandro Canti & Gianluca Viscomi, Claudio Cutugno, Deyse Maria Cottini and Luca Lin.

 

Next Generation contest 2015, by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is the contest for young talented fashion designers in Italy. The prize is the production of a 12 outfit collection and a show during Milano Moda Donna. The Jury, who have met the Next generation semi-finalists, represent the whole of the fashion system, including institutions, businesses, trade press and retail. The young designers presented their collection projects to the five Jury members and the Ambassador and spoke to them about their experiences and dreams.

The members of the jury were: Jane Reeve (from Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), Danda Santini (editor of ELLE italia), Mario dell'oglio ( Italian chamber of fashion buyers), Carla Biffi (Biffi brand), Carlo Capasa (founder of Costume National & the coach stylist Simone Guidarelli. The embassador for the edition was the famous blogger Chiara Ferragni (TheBlondeSalad.com). Her role as Ambassador of Next Generation 2015 reflects her deep interest in the new generation of Made in Italy designers, new talents and creativity. Having acted as a member of the Jury, Chiara was called on to illustrate the contest in the web serie and will pose for Elle Italia wearing the garments designed by the winner of the Special Prize to be awarded at the Next Generation 2015 show.

 

For the 2015 edition the semifinalist were: Vincenzo Billeci, Chiara Bonanni, Francesco Corcione, Lucie Decker, Filippo Disperati, Gaia Foppiani, Ivan Daygoro Forti, Galib Gasanov, Francesca Iadanza, Giulia Iosco, Tamar Kiria, Lu Kuan, Moe Kudo, Dario Musco Iona, Beatrice Peloso, Eliana Riccio, Federica Savio, Donato Vitone, Yang Yoonjeong, Antos Zarrillo Maietta.

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Chelsea Lankes  follows up her song of sweet rebellion "Down For Whatever" today with "Too Young To Fall In Love," a cover of one of Mötley Crüe's earlier singles and deeper cuts.

 

" I've always been a fan of the 80s and particularly hair metal," Chelsea says. "There are so many great lyrics and melodies from that era and dressed up a little differently, they can still be a really great pop song "

The french M83 (Anthony Gonzalez) combines his talent to that of american sisters trio HAIM for a title named "Holes in The Sky" that you can listen below, until the release of "The Divergent series : Insurgent" (original motion picture soundtrack), in theaters on 18 March. This is M83’s second contribution to the Divergent series. The 1st one was with the fabulous track “I Need You” (listen below) that appeared in the first film in the series. The film soundtrack, will features songs by Royal Blood, Anna Calvi, Zella Day, SOHN, Imagine Dragons, Woodkid and Lykke Li.

The Vipp Shelter © Vipp

The Vipp Shelter, a prefabricated getaway house of 55m2 surrounded by nature. Vipp has made a shelter that allows you to escape in a 55m2 all inclusive nature retreat. This project exploits the benefits of a pre-fabrication allowing the process to be easy, speedy and cost-efficient. Production takes place in Frederiksværk, Denmark and is estimated to approximately 5-6 months + freight & installation. The simple steel grid structurally supports the two level space, where only the bathroom and bed loft is shielded from the main living space. Within the transparent shell, nature is omnipresent yet with a physical blindage that provides shelter from weather conditions. The point of departure is not a piece of land on which a house has been customized taking into consideration the natural surroundings. Rather the Vipp Shelter is prefabricated and built to fit any type of landscape and natural conditions. The only choice left to the customer is where to place it.

 

“ The objective was not to make a house or a mobile home. Vipp is rooted in the manufacture of industrial objects, so the term shelter is a typology that allows us to define this hybrid as a spacious, functionally generic, livable object ”

"The Palais Galliera, in close collaboration with Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin, is honouring the oldest French fashion house still in business. This first Paris exhibition devoted to Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946) features over a hundred models from the amazing collections of the Palais Galliera and the Lanvin Heritage. (...)

Jeanne Lanvin used travel diaries, swatches of ethnic fabrics and a vast library of art books to feed her curiosity and inspire her to create fabrics, patterns and exclusive colours. Jeanne Lanvin represents artistry in materials, embroidery, topstitches, twists, spirals, cut-outs – all the virtuosity of the couturière’s craft. It is classical French perfection, with very 18th century style dresses – slender bust, low waist, ample skirt – contrasting with the tubular line of Art Deco with its black and white geometrical patterns, the profusion of ribbons, crystals, beads, and silk tassels. Her practice embraces illustration, painting, graphic/print design and art direction. After Madrid and London, the promotional project of PortugalFashion with the support of ANJE (national association of young entreprises) that aims to reinforce the presence of portuguese designers worldwide, housed this time in Paris, with the debut of Diogo Miranda. The 3 portuguese designers presenting during the parisian fashion week were, Luis Buchinho, Fatima Lopes and the new one, Diogo Miranda. Here our selected looks from the runway shows for fall winter 2015/16 season. The new designer, Diogo Miranda has participated in renowned international showrooms, in London, Berlin and most recently in New York. He usually present his collections during "PortugalFashion" week in Oporto every year.

 

This 3 collections, sometimes sober and with minimal cuts and well-defined silhouettes or very feminine, as for Diogo Miranda, are very characteristic of the designers style. They play with geometric layering or asymmetries (Fatima and Luis). No ostentatious fabrics, Less is more? Surely yes and we appreciate that.

It was an honor to play with a bunch of amazing bands and travel to places I would never otherwise be able to go. This song was never finished. its a demo from ~ the lost album ~, recorded early 2013. i lost the ableton file, so its not mixed or mastered. i tried to doctor the mp3 into a listenable state, but it was poorly recorded in the first place and never meant to be heard by anyone, so its a bit of a mess haha."  Grimes

As your probably know, 26 designers were shortlisted to present their collections during the LVMH Prize showroom on the 4th and 5th of March of this year in Paris. The panel of 45 experts were able to meet and talk with each of them before voting for the 8 finalists of this second edition of LVMH Prize 2015. The 8 finalist are: Arthur Arbesser (a Milan based womenswear brand started by Viennese designer Arthur Arbesser), Coperni (a french womenswear brand based in Paris created by Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant ), Craig Green (by the British designer CraigGreen is a London based menswear brand), Faustine Steinmetz ( she began her London based womenswear brand after having studied at Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris), Jacquemus (a french womenswear brand created by Simon Porte Jacquemus), Marques’Almeida (a London based womenswear brand started by Portuguese designers Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida), Off-White (a Milan based menswear and womenswear label created by Virgil Abloh) and finally Vetements (a Parisian based brand started by Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia and other graduates from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts).  + www.lvmhprize.com

"The inspiration comes of the rock impact in their natural habitat and in its purest state, transporting us to others times as if we had stuck in time. Is all about the origin, than has ever changed (if not by nature itself and its stage of processing) as if there was nothing beyond that place, nothing beyond the beauty and the purity transmitting us energy, shapes, volume and movement, where three of the four elements are present (Air, Water, Earth).
