Discover the 26 shortlisted designers for the LVMH Prize - Young Fashion Designer 2015. "Mass, Hollowed Mass, Faceted Mass, Fissured Mass, Mass that cracks open and hinges apart informed how we proceeded to give this home its defining qualities from the courtyard plan, to the split-massing, all the way down to the fittings and fixtures that one touches with the hand or eye. For instance, the millwork is volumetric, only revealing contents within when a contoured bronze void is touched with the fingertips, allowing the mass to be gently cracked open. Long fissures in the mill-finish steel plate ceiling reveal light while maintaining the quality of nothingness at night. Mass and the improbability of delicacy discovered within it is what give the Sonoran Desert its remarkable presence. As our clients and their guests move from the mass of this landform into our engawa, we hope they will always rediscover with a hint of surprise the preciousness of things. "

The fashion designer Damir Doma commissioned Rodney Eggleston ( March Studio - Melbourne ) to design the first store in Paris. A strong aesthetic with a mixture of raw and refined materials for a new space, a step, making the evolution of the brand into a new luxury sphere with this new concept store. Black, white and earth tones with mirrors, and some unfinished surfaces decorates the parisian boutique of 200m2 in a discrete courtyard in the heart of the prestigious Parisian shopping district at 54 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Damir Doma was working with the idea of “layers of materiality” at the time, that's the reason why this idea became the start point for the store concept. Rawness and purity , using marble in its natural slab form, multi-layered, simple and extremely textured, we like. “We went to a marble yard on the outskirts of Paris together, and that visit really started to inform the staircase, just seeing all that marble stacked on top of each other, one slab after the other, rough cuts and raw,” says Eggleston, the architect.

With special and unique mirrors they solve the issue of the ceiling’s low height, with some brass accents and raw steel. The treated / aged mirrors were all handcrafted by Outlines, a Custom Mirror Finish company based in South Melbourne founded in 2003 by Helen Macfarlane. They are specialise in producing hand-made ‘antiqued’ and ‘contemporary’ mirrored glass finishes for walls, splashbacks & ceiling canopies through to framed external mirrors, cupboard fronts etc.

Marques'Almeida fall winter 2015-16 collection presented at London fashion week. They work denim with transparencies, asymmetrical shapes worked in a minimal and sober line and keeping it "casual". They use fabrics in their natural state, reworking the denim with a sens of rebellion and a certain modernity. The portuguese duo, Marta Marques & Paulo Almeida started their own label in 2011. They started showing their collection at Lisboa fashion week then in London. " It’s gone a long time since we last heard from Unai. During the first few years of the 2000’s the solo project from Swedish artist and producer Erik Möller gained a worldwide following for his unique form of emotional techno. His first two albums ended up on end-of-the-year-lists worldwide. He was nominated for a Swedish grammy award and praised by everyone from the New York Times and indie kids to the most fundamental of minimal techno dj’s. And then: silence. For nine years, apart a few collaborations like for Kris Menace’s MTV presented “Features” Album and some rare remixes (listen here). His latest album ”A love moderne” (2006) earned a lot of love from both critics and audiences. New York Times said: “An early contender for electronic-music album of the year” and The Wire called it “A strong affecting listen”.

You hear hints of dark techno basements and echoes of dub in the sparse and muffled soundscapes of “Human empire”, but it’s at the same time a step far beyond the dancefloor. On “Human Empire” his love for melancholic songwriting, cold synth, bass music and modern r’n’b has taken the front seat. With pulsing slo-mo house rhythms, rusty synth arpeggios, growling hoover basslines, silky Rhodes-chords and his unmistakable voice, Unai explores the passing of time, heartbreak, boredom, lost friendships, childhood, nocturnal escapism and of course – love. Often all at once, within one song.
For the first time ever, Unai wasn’t alone during the recordings. Artists and musicians such as Tomas Bodén from experimental pop band Differnet (on modular electronics), Lisa and Kristofer Ulfves of ambient duo Lisa & Kroffe (flute & clarinet) and guitarist Erik Asplund all put their vital parts into the album. Lyrics on some of the songs are translated poems by Erik’s late father.

She, Alexandra Moura, breaks the codes, leads a true reflection on fashion design, and the idea of what is a concept. She is one of the leading figures of the portuguese fashion week and without doubt one of the bests in portuguese fashion industry with an unconventional work that looks to the future. Alexandra imposes a style, a way of thinking fashion and materialize it through deep reflections on the construction or deconstruction process, the materials used ( Cotton, neoprene, linen, silk, denim, fleece and microfibre, ...), the shape & silhouette, the origin of uses and customs. Playing with the concept of contrast and opposites, craftworks and technologies, past and future, she leads us on a common reflexion, what is also the rule of a visionary fashion. We love her work and  follow her for several years now. Balenciaga new fragrance signed by perfumer of IFF, Domitille Michalon Bertier. B. BALENCIAGA was created carefully with reference to “every element required in the process of evaluation of what had been done and what had never been done before,” says Alexander Wang, creative director of the brand Balenciaga, that with new fragrance wants to make a new breakthrough of the house and to transfer the DNA of the brand with the composition, design of the bottle and style.

The composition of the fragrance B. Balenciaga was announced as green and tart, very strong, with subnotes of subtle woodsy shades. The top notes are composed of lily of the valley, violet leaves and green accords of edamame peas. The heart incorporates orris and cedar, while the base incorporates ambrette seed and cashmere wood.

The flacon is very elegant and artistic. The glass of the bottle is inspired by the marble floor of Balenciaga’s salon located at 10 Avenue George V in Paris, while the stopper was created to suggest the modern style that Balenciaga has cherished in fashion creations and in making accessories. Savage Beauty - Alexander McQueen

"Celebrating the extraordinary creative talent of one of the most innovative designers of recent times, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty will be the first and largest retrospective of McQueen's work to be presented in Europe. The V&A is delighted to announce that it will present Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in London in spring 2015. The first and largest retrospective of the late designer’s work to be presented in Europe, the exhibition will showcase McQueen’s visionary body of work. Spanning his 1992 MA graduate collection to his unfinished A/W 2010 collection, McQueen’s designs will be presented with the dramatic staging and sense of spectacle synonymous with his runway shows.

The original version of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in 2011 (video here below) was organised by the Costume Institute and became one of the Museum's top 10 most visited exhibitions."
